Behavioral Health Medical Director

Job Summary
Manage all BRH clinical operations for behavioral health and psychiatric prescribers, including MOUD services in behavioral health and medical clinics. Provide clinical and administrative guidance for psychiatric care across medical and community-based clinics while leading clinical staff and collaborating with management to improve service line operations. Coordinate clinic activities with the CMO and CBHIO, maintain licensure and certifications, and attend continuing education programs to ensure clinical competency. Support staff development with Practice Managers and the Clinical Director, fostering cooperative relationships between providers, support staff, and the community. Establish partnerships with local organizations to enhance community health and coordinate agency resources for continuity of care. Dedicate a portion of time to direct patient care. Currently licensed to practice in North Carolina with board certification in Psychiatry required.
Required Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD, DO, PA, NP) from accredited university/medical school.
- Board certification in Psychiatry, or other relevant specialties.
- Currently licensed to practice medicine in the state of North Carolina.
- Current basic life support (BLS) certification.
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred three years of clinical experience.
- Experience developing and managing Utilization Review and Quality Assurance Programs.
- An in-depth understanding of and experience with ambulatory clinical operations.
- Knowledge of finance, cost control and patient access enhancements.
- Outstanding communication/negotiations/ leadership skills with clinic and service line staff and members of the community.
- Thorough knowledge of principles and practices of modern medicine.
- General knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to Community Health Centers and community-based behavioral health.
