Job Summary
Coordinate patient intake, document vital signs, and prepare patients for provider visits while managing new-patient and follow-up paperwork. Review provider refill in-baskets, queue medication requests, and inform patients of normal lab results. Administer medications under physician direction, perform diagnostic testing such as EKGs and audiograms, and post results through MyChart. Manage clinic supplies, maintain equipment, and assist providers with procedures and patient preparation. Answer triage calls, track medication requests, and connect patients to community resources. Clean patient rooms and handle dirty linens.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Medical Assistant experience
- CNA/EMT/PCT(or other comparable experience) providing direct patient care, beyond Activities of Daily Living, including experience taking manual vitals and giving medications and/or injections
- Graduate of a medical assistant program
- Current AHA approved Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course completion card or within 60 days of hire
Desired Qualifications
- Six (6) months or more experience as a Medical Assistant
- Experience working in a behavioral health practice
- Medical Assistant certification
