Job Summary
Provide customer service support for behavioral health benefits by directing members to in-network services, processing prior authorizations per CMS and State regulations, and resolving behavioral health situations from calls. Handle telephone inquiries regarding referrals, authorizations, eligibility, and network affiliations, transferring clinical cases to staff while informing callers of utilization requirements. Make initial referrals without clinical interpretation, complete electronic certification and progress notes, and assist with claims corrections, provider faxes, and member letters. Manage administrative tasks and interact with members, including those who are disgruntled, while maintaining confidentiality. Available 8AM-5PM excluding breaks.
Required Qualifications
- Basic punctuation and grammar skills
- Proficient in Microsoft applications
- Ability to work independently and apply good judgment
- Ability to maintain and preserve information of highly confidential nature
- Possess strong oral communication skills
- Successful completion of Health Care Sanctions background check
- High school diploma or equivalent
