Job Summary

Provide customer service support for behavioral health benefits by directing members to in-network services, processing prior authorizations per CMS and State regulations, and resolving behavioral health situations from calls. Handle telephone inquiries for referrals, authorizations, and eligibility verification while determining clinical needs to transfer to clinical staff. Make initial referrals without clinical interpretation, complete electronic certification and progress notes, and assist with claims corrections, provider faxes, and member letters. Manage administrative tasks and interact with upset members while maintaining confidentiality. Work 8AM-5PM excluding lunch and breaks. Requires Health Care Sanctions background check and strong communication skills.

Required Qualifications

  • Basic punctuation and grammar skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time efficiently
  • Ability to work independently and apply good judgment
  • Ability to maintain and preserve information of highly confidential nature
  • Possess strong oral communication skills
  • Successful completion of Health Care Sanctions background check
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Desired Qualifications

  • Customer service, office management, and/or healthcare experience
