Behavioral Health Intake Coordinator (H)

Job Summary
Evaluate severity of illness for all elective, direct, and urgent admissions to determine appropriate patient care levels. Review physician orders for clinical appropriateness and completeness, then coordinate education and development of internal staff and external departments regarding the intake review and approval process. Conduct complex clinical reviews for inpatient, outpatient, and ancillary services requests to verify medical necessity. Apply evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge to ensure nursing care aligns with patient-specific needs and the department's Scope of Service. Maintain constant alertness and safe manner while performing other duties as assigned. Night shift, 36 weekly hours.
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Registered Nurse (RN) - Missouri Division of Professional Registration
- Registered Nurse (RN) Issued by Compact State
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Registered Nurse (RN) Issued by Compact State
- Registered Nurse (RN) - Oklahoma Board of Nursing (OBN)
