Job Summary
Behavioral Health Crisis Assessor provides crisis evaluation of patients in the ED, inpatient, and community settings, coordinates with hospital and community providers for patient-centered care, and collaborates with the health care team to facilitate safe transitions. Responsibilities include interviewing referred clients, determining appropriate interventions, employing empirically-supported behavioral health treatments, supporting clinic team operations, monitoring program outcomes, and ensuring adherence to ethical standards and evidence-based practices for mental health and substance use disorders.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Psychology
- Master's Degree in Social Work
- Experience: 3-5 years Behavioral health
- Experience: 1-3 years Acute care environment
- Experience: 2 years inpatient/acute care setting
- Experience with crisis assessment and evidence-based interventions in hospital or other primary healthcare setting
- Crisis stabilization: substance use clinical experience
- Therapy and counseling knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnostics, treatment, and rehabilitation of mental health and substance use disorders
- Knowledge of interviewing, customer needs assessment, and meeting quality standards for services
- Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, and government regulations
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, internet navigation, and electronic medical records
- Strong communication skills; ability to collaborate with associates, management, physicians, patients/families, and community professionals
- Ability to establish constructive relationships with clients and work in a team
- Ability to perform data mining to improve patient outcomes
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment
- Ability to travel in emergency department, inpatient, or outpatient settings
- Competency in cognitive and behavioral interventions within emergency, inpatient, or outpatient settings
- Demonstrated cultural competency and knowledge of interventions with special populations
- Supervision available under licensed professionals per scope of practice
- Licenses/Certifications: LCSW, LMFT, LPC, Psychologist (Tennessee Boards)
