Behavioral Health Counselor

Job Summary
Provide behavioral health assessments, develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals, and deliver individual, group, and family therapeutic interventions for mental health and substance use concerns within an integrated care/FQHC environment. Conduct crisis intervention and safety assessments, coordinate care with medical providers and community partners, ensure timely documentation in the electronic health record, and participate in clinical supervision, staff meetings, and required trainings. Emphasize trauma-informed, culturally responsive, patient-centered care across all interactions and maintain confidentiality in line with HIPAA.
Required Qualifications
- Active Louisiana licensure as an LCSW or LPC is required
- Master’s degree in Social Work or Counseling required
- Experience conducting assessments, formulating diagnoses, and developing treatment plans
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices, including trauma-informed care and treatment for co-occurring disorders
- Working knowledge of DSM and ICD diagnostic frameworks
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and crisis intervention skills
- Proficiency with electronic health records and timely clinical documentation
- Knowledge of HIPAA, confidentiality requirements, and integrated care best practices
- American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers required
