Job Summary
Behavioral Health Counselor at High Point Medical Center (Emergency Crisis) for a full-time role. Provides clinical assessments to determine treatment needs and level of care, communicates benefits of treatment, and collaborates with patients and families. Responsibilities include patient assessment, documenting findings, determining severity of psychosocial stressors, coordinating with physicians/psychiatrists, family involvement and education, admissions processing with physician Authorization, financial/insurance verifications, and facilitating referrals to community resources. Requires a Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy and licensure as a Social Worker or Counselor in the state. Strong emphasis on communication, empathy, patient and family education, and teamwork within a hospital setting. 12-hour shifts (Friday – Sunday, 8am–8pm), 36 hours per week; benefits eligible; Advocate Health system background described.
Required Qualifications
- Masters of Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy Required (degree from an accredited college or university)
- Licensed in Social Work or Counseling in the applicable state
