Job Summary
The Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) collaborates with investigative staff to provide mental health consultation for at-risk families, support in safety management services, and assist in crisis intervention.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in the behavioral health sciences
- Registered intern with the State of Florida’s Department of Health as an intern as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist or Licensed Mental Health Counselor
- 3 to 5 years clinical experience in substance use disorders or mental health treatment
- Extensive knowledge of all aspects of addictions and/or mental health treatment and rehabilitation
Desired Qualifications
- Strong knowledge base regarding the causes, symptoms, and progression of substance abuse and/or mental health problems
- Familiarity with various models of treatment
- Understanding of various therapeutic techniques and approaches
- Ability to identify and utilize the most effective form of treatment
