Job Summary
The Behavioral Health Consultant will provide direct patient care for behavioral health services within an integrated care model, delivering brief targeted psychotherapy and conducting initial/ongoing assessments to develop patient care plans. Responsibilities include evaluating social, emotional, and economic factors affecting care, providing brief psychotherapy to patients and families, incorporating co-occurring disorders into plans, crisis management and psychoeducation, warm hand-offs at provider requests, and collaborating with primary care teams to support medical treatment and quality assurance. The role requires CA licensure/licensure track (CA Psychology, LCSW, or LPCC as appropriate) and a minimum of two years of pre/post licensure psychotherapy experience, with bilingual English/Spanish preferred. A hybrid work arrangement is indicated (Tue-Sat, 8:00am–5:00pm). The organization emphasizes interdisciplinary teamwork, ongoing credentialing, and professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Doctorate degree in psychology with a valid CA Psychology License
- Master’s degree in social work with a valid CA LCSW License
- Master’s in counseling with a valid CA LPCC License
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through an American Heart Association (AHA) Approved source
- Two years of pre/post licensure psychotherapy experience with children, adults, and/or adolescents
- Experience providing health psychotherapy services (e.g., smoking cessation, weight management, stress management)
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Experience working with children/adolescence required
