Job Summary
The Behavioral Health Consultant is responsible for screening, evaluating, and assessing clients in therapeutic and medical settings. This role involves diagnosing psychological, behavioral, and emotional disorders, utilizing DSM-5 criteria, and implementing evidence-based treatments. Duties include providing brief assessments and interventions, overseeing group sessions, and developing personalized treatment plans. The consultant will evaluate treatment plans regularly and respond to clients in crisis, ensuring safety and appropriate follow-up. Additional responsibilities include maintaining clinical records, participating in team-based care, and engaging in quality improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed as a mental health professional (e.g., LCSW, LPC, PsyD)
- Experience in assessing and treating psychological disorders
- Knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria
- Ability to use evidence-based treatment strategies (ACT, CBT, DBT)
- Experience providing brief assessments and interventions
- Ability to develop and implement treatment plans
- Strong communication skills
