Behavioral Health Clinician Internship

Job Summary

Conduct patient assessments, treatment planning, and case management while delivering individual, group, and family counseling sessions under supervision. Administer evaluations to determine care levels, coordinate referrals to community services, and maintain OTP caseloads with annual updates. Complete clinical documentation per CTP procedures and report patient progress regularly. Travel to outlying sites to provide training and treatment. Requires a master's or doctoral degree, CPR certification, and a valid driver's license. Commit to a minimum of 20 hours weekly at a rate of $25.00 to $30.00 hourly. Pass drug screening, background check, and TB test.

Required Qualifications

  • Students enrolled in a master's program and/or doctoral degree (counseling, social work, psychology, etc.)
  • You must be able to commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including electronic records, is required
  • CPR and first-aid certification (the agency pays for initial training and renewals)
  • Valid driver's license and insurability
  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, and drive

Desired Qualifications

  • It is preferred that applicants for the internship program have already completed coursework related to therapeutic interventions, group counseling, and assessment/diagnosis of mental health conditions
  • This internship is best for individuals in their second year of graduate school or recently graduated and seeking pre-licensed supervised experience
  • Familiarity with the ASAM level-of-care criteria is preferred but not mandatory
  • Solid communication skills
