Job Summary
Assess prospective clients and families for psychiatric services by interviewing, reviewing psychosocial history, and developing treatment plans. Provide individual, group, and family psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and culturally competent case management while referring clients to community resources. Compile client records, prepare reports, and collaborate with nurses, primary care providers, and other agencies to coordinate care and solve problems. Participate in quality improvement activities and supervise support staff as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Possession of a valid license issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) for either: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) OR Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW) OR Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) OR Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) OR Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) OR Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC)
- Achieving a passing score on the Training and Experience Examination (T&E exam)
- Knowledge of pertinent laws and regulations
- Knowledge of principles of psychiatric case management
- Knowledge of clinical methods
- Knowledge of appropriate resources
- Knowledge of basic personnel policy and practices
- Self-protection/assessment
- Written communication skills
- Oral communication skills
