Job Summary
Implement counseling therapy for assigned patients in individual and group settings, conducting interviews and assessments of patients, families, caregivers, and legal representatives. Determine, provide, and arrange for needed internal and external services, participating in case reviews and care conferences to evaluate progress. Assist with discharge planning by identifying community-based resources, coordinating readiness with the care team, and providing referrals. Utilize teaching methods to meet patient and family educational needs while training new staff, students, and interns. Operate as an independently licensed behavioral health clinician requiring critical thinking and decisive judgment in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
- State licensure as Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), or Licensed Addiction Counselor (ACD), or other licensure/certification may be acceptable as approved by department leadership
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action
- Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision
