Job Summary

Provide social work and therapy services within a primary care setting, conducting psychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, and individual therapy while coordinating admissions and utilization reviews. Manage admission criteria, pre-certification, and continued stay authorizations for managed care companies, resolving denials and appeals. Facilitate group therapy and develop professional relationships with community agencies to support the interdisciplinary treatment team. Maintain productivity standards and document all interactions according to established confidentiality protocols. Schedule rotates shifts, standby, and on-call duties with local travel between system locations as operational needs require.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work or Counseling
  • Two years of experience in behavioral health
  • Strong leadership ability
  • Good organizational skills
  • Independent and critical thinking skills
  • Sound judgment
  • Knowledge of legal aspects and liability of nursing practice
  • Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience
  • Knowledge of chemical dependency
  • Experience in Healthcare setting
  • AHA CPR and Act 33/73 Clearances
  • Act 34-PA Criminal Record Check from the PA State Police system
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of the interdisciplinary treatment team
  • Ongoing assessment, evaluation and treatment planning from admission to discharge
  • Demonstrates applicable knowledge of admission criteria, pre – certification and continued stay authorization process for all managed care companies
  • Ability to successfully resolve denials and appeals
  • Demonstrates effective verbal, nonverbal and written communication skills
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality
  • Ability to develop professional relationships and collaboration with community agencies
  • Provides effective one-to-one therapeutic interventions with patients and family
  • Facilitates group therapy
  • Provides appropriate therapeutic interventions
  • Demonstrates knowledge of productivity standards and consistently maintains them
  • Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.)
  • Travel may be expected locally between System locations
  • Goggles, face shield and mask are required according to CDC guidelines
  • When lift requirement is in excess of 50#, lift assistance (2 person) and/or transfer device is required
