Behavioral Health Clinical Director

Job Summary
Clinical Director provides leadership and oversight for behavioral health programs, supervising and developing clinical staff, guiding assessments and treatment planning, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Leads staff training, monitors documentation quality, collaborates with operational leadership to align practices with organizational goals, supports program development and service expansion, and promotes evidence-based, person-centered care. Uses data and reports to drive improvements and ensures care coordination and adherence to regulatory/ payer requirements; fosters accountability and professional development across teams.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field required
- Active licensure in Virginia (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent) required
- 3+ years of experience in behavioral health, including clinical supervision or leadership responsibilities
- Experience supporting, mentoring, and developing clinical staff
- Strong understanding of clinical best practices, service delivery, and person-centered care
- Working knowledge of DBHDS regulations, Medicaid requirements, and clinical documentation standards
- Experience with program development, implementation, or service expansion preferred
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and Microsoft Office Suite
