Job Summary
Support clinicians with patient care, examinations, and procedures while obtaining and documenting consent. Complete daily operational tasks in the patient care area, including obtaining vital signs, recording patient information, and performing tests such as EKGs, spirometry, and injections. Provide patient instructions, answer telephone calls, and maintain documentation of care services, medications, and immunization data in charts and the Arizona State Immunization Information System. Clean exam rooms, process prescription refills, and ensure quality of care by complying with infection control policies and maintaining medical equipment and supply inventory. Perform waiver laboratory testing, track diagnostic tests, and report communicable diseases as required.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of a Medical Assistant program accredited by CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs), ABHES (Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools) OR higher Learning Commission (HLC), AND Program completed at an institution recognized by a U.S. Department of Education – recognized accrediting body
- Valid current credential as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from an accredited organization
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (may be completed with MHC upon hire)
- Fingerprint Clearance Card through the Arizona Department of Public Safety
