Job Summary

The Behavioral Health Case Manager is responsible for assessing client and family needs, coordinating necessary services, and providing in-home case management services. Key tasks include conducting client assessments, developing service plans, maintaining client records, and advocating for services. The role requires knowledge of community resources and state policies affecting children with serious emotional disturbances. It demands strong planning, communication, and interpersonal skills. A bachelor's degree in a related field and experience working with emotionally disturbed children, along with required certifications, are essential.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with a major in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Nursing, Rehabilitation, Special Education, Health Education, or a human services related field from an accredited university
  • One year full-time experience working with severely emotionally disturbed children (if degree is in a human services related field)
  • Three years full-time experience working with severely emotionally disturbed children (if degree is in a non-human services related field)
  • Successful completion of AHCA-approved mental health targeted case management training within three months of initially providing Medicaid services
  • Completion of the Certified Case Manager Certification
