Behavioral Assistant (Sussex County)

Job Summary
Provide home and community-based behavioral support to youth and caregivers, implementing treatment plans and delivering services under the supervision of a licensed therapist. Responsibilities include using evidence-based interventions and positive reinforcement, assisting with caregiver/staff training, collecting and reporting progress (including graphs when required), submitting weekly clinical progress notes within 24 hours of service, recognizing and intervening in crisis situations, and maintaining compliance with agency policies. Requires NJ CSOC Behavioral Assistant Certification within 6 months of hire, a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field, 2–4 years of experience in behavioral healthcare with children with developmental/intellectual disabilities or mental illness, a valid New Jersey Driver’s License, ability to pass state and federal background checks, and a pre-employment drug screen. Bilingual (especially Spanish) encouraged; must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field
- 2–4 years of experience in behavioral healthcare, preferably with children with developmental/intellectual disabilities or mental illness
- Valid New Jersey Driver’s License
- Must pass all state and federal background checks
- A pre-employment, post conditional job offer drug screen is required for this role
- Must complete the NJ CSOC Behavioral Assistant Certification within 6 months of hire
