Job Summary
Behavioral Assistant provides targeted support to students with behavioral challenges on the autism spectrum and related developmental disabilities under a licensed teacher's direction. Responsibilities include supporting the implementation of individualized behavior plans, participating in ongoing training on specialized strategies and interventions, and applying training to address recurring behaviors under supervision. The role emphasizes data collection and use of behavioral and instructional data to inform actions.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED supplemented by course work in child development or a related field
- Experience working with students with behavioral challenges on the autism spectrum, emotional/behavioral disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and/or other developmental disabilities
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities to effectively manage the behaviors of children with behavioral and learning challenges
- Ability to collect, record, and use behavioral and instructional data
- Remote Work Eligible: No
