Behavioral Assistant (Hunterdon County)

Behavioral Assistant provides in-home and community-based support for youth and caregivers, implements treatment plans, and delivers services under the supervision of a licensed therapist. Responsibilities include using evidence-based interventions and positive reinforcement, assisting with treatment plan implementation, collecting and reporting progress, documenting weekly clinical notes within 24 hours, training caregivers and staff under supervision, recognizing and intervening in crises, participating in required training, and maintaining compliance with agency policies. Required skills include active listening, critical thinking, strong communication, reliability, collaboration, leadership by example, organizational abilities, and knowledge of behavioral/developmental interventions. The role requires NJ CSOC Behavioral Assistant Certification within 6 months of hire, a Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, 2–4 years in behavioral healthcare, a valid NJ driver’s license, and ability to pass background checks and a drug screen; candidates who are bilingual, especially Spanish-speaking, are encouraged to apply.
