Job Summary
Conduct one-on-one therapy sessions with autistic children ages 2–12, focusing on language, social skills, and daily living tasks like self-care and transitions. Manage challenging behaviors such as meltdowns or elopement while maintaining a calm, assent-based approach that prioritizes the child's autonomy. Track session progress and document notes to support ongoing therapy plan adjustments. Collaborate daily with OTs, SLPs, and mental health professionals to problem-solve and celebrate wins. Requires physical stamina for active engagement, including lifting up to 45 pounds, and availability for afternoon/evening shifts starting at 3pm or Saturdays.
Required Qualifications
- Must have the physical stamina and mobility to actively engage with children, including sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 45 pounds, and effective visual and auditory communication
- High school diploma or GED required
- Afternoon/evening (starting at 3pm) and Saturday availability required
