Job Summary
Provide one-to-one instruction of skills and alternatives to interfering behavior for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder using Applied Behavioral Analysis principles. Deliver afternoon client sessions Monday through Thursday from 3:00/3:30 pm to 6 pm, maintaining accurate data, graphing, and documentation of incidents and plans. Coordinate with staff, families, and clinical consultants to implement specified goals while demonstrating bilingual English/Spanish communication skills. Perform appropriate physical restraint as needed and clean up after client sessions.
Required Qualifications
- 18+ and possess a GED/High School Diploma or higher
- Bilingual- English/Spanish speaking
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable vehicle available to them at all times
- Successfully pass a CORI check
- Successfully pass a DRIVING record check
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Effective organizational skills including the ability to: multitask, prioritize tasks, and communicate well with other staff
- Punctuality and accountability
- Maintain confidentiality and a high standard of ethics
- Work well with teams (staff, families, and clinical consultants)
- Maintain a positive attitude and show enthusiasm at work every day
- Provide support in crisis situations
- Consistently implementing predetermined behavioral strategies
- Timely and accurate notification and documentation of incidents and plans
- Maintain accurate data and graphing on all designated programs
- Receive feedback in a professional manner
- Work independently with initial direction
- May work with other specialists and/or parents to implement additional specified goals and objectives
Desired Qualifications
- Helpful (but not required) to have experience with individuals with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities with accompanying behavioral disorders
