Job Summary
Behavior Technician in Wilkes County Schools to support students with varied cognitive, social, and emotional disabilities. Responsibilities include implementing behavioral interventions and the Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP), assisting with classroom instruction and data collection, participating in IEP meetings, preparing and using instructional materials, communicating effectively in writing and orally, and collaborating with teachers, parents, and administrators to monitor student progress and ensure successful outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- MINIMUM TRAINING: A minimum of 48 semester hours of college coursework.
- Ability to work with students with disabling conditions.
- Knowledge of student growth and development and behavior management strategies.
- Ability to maintain composure under stressful conditions.
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff and community.
- Must adhere to district/state/federal requirements and policies.
- Ability to perform duties with awareness of record storage, retrieval and management procedures.
- Experience with special education, IEP processes, and collaboration with EC staff.
