Job Summary
Assist the special education teacher in carrying out instructional programs and lessons for individual students or small groups, while supporting students in performing activities and reinforcing concepts across all learning environments. Implement IEP accommodations, facilitate social integration through behavior management, and assist with daily living skills including eating, toileting, grooming, and dressing. Provide mobility support, serve as a communication link regarding student participation, maintain accurate progress records, and supervise students during non-classroom activities like lunch, recess, and field trips. Participate in team meetings and professional development to stay current with best practices.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 1-2 years of experience working with children in a related position
- Ability to lift more than 20 lbs
- Current AZ IVP Fingerprint card
- Applicants must be presently eligible to work in the United States
