Behavior Technician

Job Summary

Implement evidence-based behavior intervention methods specific to each child's treatment plan through 1:1 sessions with children and adolescents. Teach skills via play-based activities while regularly analyzing client strengths, assessing needs, and monitoring progression against goals outlined in a behavior intervention plan. Recognize and respond appropriately to challenging behaviors, perform consistent data collection, and notify the clinical team of newly observed target behaviors. Document significant behavior changes and actively communicate session cancellations with the Scheduler to coordinate makeup sessions. Ensure compliance with organizational policies, state, and federal regulations while participating in required team meetings and completing mandatory training.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be willing to commute a minimum of a 15-20 mile radius outside of the applied position
  • Must have open availability at least 4 days out of the work week, as well as 1 weekend day if requested by management
  • Minimum high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Must demonstrate skills in time management, communication, organization, and documentation
  • Must have reliable transportation and a working cellular phone
  • New hires are expected to complete a background check through the DOJ and FBI

Desired Qualifications

  • Experienced preferred, but not needed!
  • RBT certification a plus
  • Experience working with individuals diagnosed with developmental disabilities is preferred not required
  • Familiarity with Office 365 or proficiency in Microsoft Office preferred
  • Ideal candidates are energetic, patient, and empathetic
  • Possess strong communication, organization, and time management skills
