Job Summary
Provide direct support for students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs through individualized instruction, small group activities, and de-escalation interventions. Collect, analyze, and graph data on student behaviors to monitor progress and inform intervention strategies. Collaborate with special and general education staff to implement behavior plans, coordinate strategies, and deliver professional development. Perform non-violent crisis interventions, maintain safety and decorum across school areas, and provide first aid as needed. Work independently under supervision to ensure consistent adherence to behavior plans and district procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Previous education and experience as a Behavior Tech/RBT
- MANDT or Right Response Trained
- Previous successful experience working with children and youth with disabilities
- Training or experience working with diverse racial, ethnic, and cultural groups
- Current first aid/CPR certification
- Willingness to obtain first aid/CPR certification promptly
- Demonstrated skill in communicating effectively with all staff, students, and as a team member, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work with students in a warm and confident manner
- Ability to develop and maintain data systems in order for teams to make decisions on appropriate interventions
- Knowledge of student safety rules and procedures
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Ability in graphing behavior trends and writing behavior reports
- Ability to accept supervision from administrator(s), certificated teacher(s), and special education directors
- Ability to develop and maintain positive rapport with students and staff
- Skill in making effective, quick decisions
- Ability to accurately assess emergency situations
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unaided
- Ability to lift over 50 pounds with the assistance of another person and/or a lift assist
- Ability to stand, walk, sit; some stooping, kneeling, and/or crouching
- Significant fine finger dexterity
- Exposure to risk of injury and/or ordinary infectious diseases carried by students
- Verification of identity and United States work authorization
- Fingerprinting
- Clearance by the Washington State Patrol
- Clearance by the Federal Bureau of Investigation

- Washington State Special Education Specialty Certification
