Job Summary
Behavior Technician provides ABA-based behavioral intervention to children with autism and related developmental disabilities in home, community, clinic, and school settings. Responsibilities include planning and implementing intervention strategies under BCBA supervision, teaching targeted behaviors, recording and tracking data, reinforcing positive behavior, and communicating with parents and professionals. Direct client care is performed in 1:1 and group settings using intensive teaching and natural environment training. The role includes parent/caregiver training, data collection and documentation, coordinating transitions across agencies, ensuring child safety, and maintaining professional standards while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a human services field (or an associate’s degree with relevant experience) and strong organizational/communication skills; RBT certification is a plus. Location: Stamford, CT; after-school/home-based hours with remote work option.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a human services field from an accredited university AND one year of direct relevant experience working with youth and families who require behavior management to address mental health needs
- OR
- Associates degree (60 college credits) AND a minimum of two years of direct relevant experience working with youth and families who require behavior management to address mental health needs
- Strong organization and communication skills are required
- Registered Behavior Technician certification is a plus
