Job Summary
Provide in-home behavioral support to individuals with challenging behaviors and implement/monitor support plans. Responsibilities include delivering direct support services within a designated caseload under management guidance, documenting and tracking data daily, ensuring compliance with federal and state standards, communicating with managers/coordinators during incidents, maintaining confidentiality, and being willing to fill Direct Support Professional duties as needed. Additional duties include assisting with activities of daily living, medication administration, cash handling and receipt maintenance, and travel to surrounding areas as required. Requirements include being 21+ years old and possessing a High School Diploma, GED, or AA Degree, with 1+ years of relevant experience, the ability to pass a background check, a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and strong English communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years old
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- 1+ years of experience with individuals who exhibit challenging behaviors
- AA Degree
- Ability to pass a background check with MN DHS
- Knowledge of federal and state healthcare laws and regulations
- Willingness to travel to surrounding areas as needed
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
- Clear driving record (No DUI/DWI in past 5 years)
- Fluently read, understand, speak, and write English
- Dynamic communication skills, multitasking ability
- General computer skills/knowledge
- Working cell phone with internet access
- Experience with Positive Supports and Crisis Interventions
- Understanding of Protocols (e.g., Seizure Protocol, FBA, Behavior Reduction Protocol)
