Job Summary
Conduct behavioral assessments, write reports, and implement behavior support plans for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities while adhering to Texas Administration Code and HHSC guidelines. Provide counseling and skills training, perform direct observations for behavioral assessment, and conduct functional analyses including data gathering and strategy implementation. Act as a primary resource for staff by delivering ongoing in-services on positive behavior support and functional behavioral analysis concepts. Respond to critical incidents involving aberrant behaviors by providing guidance and post-intervention care to individuals, families, and providers. Track contact hours and ensure comprehensive billing-compliant documentation.
Required Qualifications
- at least a master's degree in Psychology, Social work, Special Education, or related field from an accredited university
- a clear license to practice in the state of Texas as an LPC, LPC-Associate, BCBA, or LCSW
- a licensed clinical social worker in accordance with Chapter 501 of the Texas Occupations Codes
- a licensed professional counselor in accordance with Chapter 501 of the Texas Occupations Codes
- knowledge of pertinent rules and regulations in the Texas Administration Code for all waivers
- knowledge of local and company policies
- ability to write, implement and monitor behavior support plans and guidelines for individuals which comply with HHSC guidelines and codes
- ability to systematically evaluate efficacy of plans and revise or provide revisions as needed
- ability to provide counseling and skills training for individuals with intellectual disabilities
- ability to act as a primary resource to the staff, support members and directors in understanding disabilities and positive behavior support
- ability to provide ongoing in-services and education to the staff on general and individual based behavioral supports
- ability to teach concepts and procedures for functional behavioral analysis
- ability to gather and summarize behavioral data
- ability to implement strategies for behavioral support
- ability to perform direct observations of individuals for behavioral assessment and development
- ability to conduct behavioral assessment and written reports and plans including observational reviews, justification of services, mental status exams, Functional Assessments, Intakes, Analysis, Monitoring Reports, Mental Health Support Plans and Behavior Intervention Programs
- ability to track hours of contact and meet standards requirements for billing purposes
- ability to respond to critical incidents involving aberrant or illegal behaviors on the part of persons served by providing guidance and post-intervention care to individuals, families, guardians and service providers
- ability to write comprehensive notes for billable and non-billable services in accordance with State and Federal Billing Guidelines
- ability to travel primarily local during the business day
- ability to travel out-of-the-area and overnight
