Job Summary
Provide in-home behavioral support and habilitation services for individuals with I/DD in coordination with families and a clinical supervisor. Conduct assessments, implement individualized habilitative plans, deliver short-term in-home training to address specific behaviors, coach families and caregivers in progressive teaching methods, collect and summarize data to monitor progress, coordinate with other service providers, and ensure adherence to documentation and safety protocols across multiple NYC locations (Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Bronx). Must have a BA/BS in a related field, at least one year of relevant experience, and be able to perform ADL assistance and travel as needed; Spanish language skills are highly preferred for certain contracts.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS Degree in Psychology of Human Services or closely related field
- At least one year of experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and/or behavioral challenges or experience in counseling/assessment
- Valid Driver’s License may be required, based on position/location
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, communication, and time management skills
- Willingness to assist with Activities of Daily Living as needed
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to meet essential physical demands of position
- Experience with data collection and reporting (weekly progress summaries)
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, graphs, or related systems
- Bilingual Spanish highly preferred for certain contracts
