Job Summary

Lead implementation of positive behavioral support plans for students in South Portland Middle and High School, collaborating with special education teams to build capacity in data-driven practice. Responsibilities include leading PBIS initiatives for large groups and individual students, conducting functional behavioral assessments, collecting and analyzing data to inform programming, and providing training in trauma-informed practices and SEL curricula. The role supports MTSS programming, consults with teachers and teams on best practices, ensures adherence to federal/state special education laws, supports Tier 1 PBIS implementation with whole-staff PD, and assists with IEP-related paperwork as needed. Requires strong collaboration and communication skills, and a foundation in working with students with intellectual and developmental disabilities; State of Maine K-8 RC certification is required, with BCBA certification preferred.
