Behavior Specialist

Job Summary
The Behavior Specialist role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining Behavioral and Support Plans, conducting behavioral assessments, and ensuring the effectiveness of said plans. The specialist will coordinate training on Behavior Support Plans, monitor progress, and conduct routine home visits. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a human services field and two years of experience with individuals with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities. Candidates must possess effective communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and have a valid US Driver’s License. Familiarity with Social Security and Medicaid/Medicare benefits is essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a human services field
- Two (2) years’ experience working with people with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities (IDD)
- Effective communication skills in English, written and oral
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and electronic health record reporting systems
- Knowledge of Social Security, Medicaid/Medicare benefits
- Detail oriented and good problem-solving skills
- Organizational skills and exceptional interpersonal skills
- Valid US Driver’s License
- Ability to successfully pass and maintain acceptable background checks – FBI, PA Child Abuse, and PA State Police Criminal History
