Job Summary
Implement targeted individual, group, and system-wide interventions to enhance positive academic, social-emotional, behavioral, and independent outcomes for students. Reinforce positive behavior, redirect negative actions, and model effective strategies while conducting detailed observations for functional behavior assessments and intervention plans. Assist teachers with instructional activities, supervise students during activities like field trips and bus duties, and provide guidance on class-wide behavior management systems. Respond promptly to crisis situations using de-escalation techniques and behavioral contracts, ensuring safety and minimizing instructional disruptions. Maintain accurate records of student behavior strategies and intervention plans, analyze behavioral data to monitor progress, and collaborate with IEP teams. Participate in team meetings, clinical supervision, and professional development while adhering to emergency protocols and safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent w/ passage of basic skills test
- Ability to obtain and maintain certification in company approved crisis management training
- Prior experience providing behavioral instruction, guidance and/or support to children
- Highly skilled in working with children with learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, emotional behavioral disorders and/or other related disabilities
- Ability to think and act quickly and calmly in an emergency situation and make independent decisions
- Solid motivational skills and willingness to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities and new initiatives
- Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making ability
- Knowledge of relevant technology including experience with computers, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry and basic office equipment
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field of study
- Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a registered behavior technician (RBT) credential
- Well-versed in applied behavior analysis (ABA) including functional behavior assessment (FBA), positive behavior interventions and support (PBIS) and behavior intervention plans (BIP's)
- Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students that help move them toward realistic goals
