Job Summary
Implement targeted individual, group, and system-wide interventions to enhance positive academic, social-emotional, and behavioral outcomes for students. Reinforce positive behaviors, redirect negative actions, and model effective strategies while conducting detailed observations for functional behavior assessments and creating individualized intervention plans. Provide practical support to classroom staff in monitoring behaviors and executing class-wide management systems, assisting with instructional activities and supervising students during activities, field trips, and transportation. Apply applied behavior analysis principles to improve student outcomes and proactively address disruptive behaviors, responding immediately to crisis situations using de-escalation techniques and behavioral contracts. Maintain accurate records of student behavior strategies and intervention plans, completing thorough documentation of incidents to ensure compliance. Participate in team meetings, clinical supervision, and strategic planning initiatives while attending professional development to stay informed on current behavioral principles and educational policies. Adhere strictly to universal precautions, emergency protocols, and safety committee procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or higher in a closely related field of study
- Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a paraprofessional, paraeducator, educational aide, teaching assistant or related credential
- Ability to obtain and maintain certification in company approved crisis management training
- Prior experience providing behavioral instruction, guidance and/or support to children
- Highly skilled in working with children with learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, emotional behavioral disorders and/or other related disabilities
- Ability to think and act quickly and calmly in an emergency situation and make independent decisions
- Solid motivational skills and willingness to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities and new initiatives
- Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making ability
- Knowledge of relevant technology including experience with computers, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry and basic office equipment

Desired Qualifications
- Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a registered behavior technician (RBT) credential
- Well-versed in applied behavior analysis (ABA) including functional behavior assessment (FBA), positive behavior interventions and support (PBIS) and behavior intervention plans (BIP's)
