Job Summary
Establish high standards and provide supervision to students assigned to In-School Suspension while maintaining an orderly environment conducive to learning. Assist students with instructional assignments and implement differentiated learning experiences according to student needs. Collaborate regularly with school leadership, teachers, school psychologists, and guidance counselors to support behavioral interventions and restorative practices. Submit appropriate records in a timely manner and utilize reports and data effectively to improve behavioral aspects of students. Follow student accommodations and modifications indicated via IEPs, 504s, and BIPs while protecting confidentiality of all records. Perform any other duties within the scope of employment as assigned by administration.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree preferred, or High School diploma and general education degree with 60 hours college credit from an accredited college, or passing score on the ParaPro Assessment
- Experience in working with children
- Ability to read and write at least the high school level
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write and/or type routine reports and correspondences
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of district personnel or organizations
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in units of measurement, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to interpret and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
- Ability to quickly assess student, departmental and school needs and provide timely feedback
- Ability to analyze varied functions, processes and tasks for the preparation of varied records and reports
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to perform duties with a high level of detail and accuracy
- Ability to self-monitor and manage multiple tasks while working individually and with members of a group
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to push/pull items such as furniture or boxes of materials
- Close vision
