The Behavior Interventionist Specialist Level 1 provides behavioral assessment and support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role involves the design and monitoring of Behavior Management Programs and requires travel to various locations including residential programs and day habilitation sites. Candidates must hold a master's degree or equivalent in a relevant field and possess at least three years of experience in the field.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in psychology or related field
  • National board certification in behavior analysis
  • NYS license as a Behavior Analyst
  • Three years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Experience in developing behavior support plans

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity with NYS OPWDD policies
  • Knowledge of ABA
  • Knowledge of PBS
  • Strong data collection and analysis skills
  • Ability to train and mentor staff in behavioral techniques
  • Effective communication skills
  • Teamwork skills
  • Presentation skills
  • Proficiency with relevant software

Additional Requirements

  • Must pass NYS OPWDD background checks
  • On-call availability for behavioral emergencies
