Job Summary
Implement strategies to support students exhibiting intensive or escalated behaviors, including aggression, elopement, and self-injury, while following behavior intervention plans and safety protocols. Provide 1:1 and small-group support for toileting, personal care, and adaptive routines, collaborating with teachers and behavior teams to foster a safe learning environment. Model positive behavior and assist with IEP implementation for students with low-communication profiles or severe emotional dysregulation. This non-exempt hourly role requires an empathetic presence during crisis moments and offers paid training, weekly paychecks, and 401k enrollment. Scoot Education partners with schools across California to match candidates with appropriate placements.
Required Qualifications
- College credits, Associate's Degree or a Bachelor's Degree
- Three professional references, including at least one supervisor
- State & federal background checks
- TB risk assessment or test
- Valid RBT Certification
- At least 1 year experience in a special education, behavior support, ABA, mental health, or classroom setting
- Experience in ABA therapy and working with students with developmental disabilities
- At least 1 year experience supporting individuals with significant behavior challenges
