Behavior Interventionist at College Achieve Public Schools supports the development of a positive, structured school culture across a middle school by collaborating with administration to maintain a consistent discipline system, managing behavioral crises, supporting classroom management, and providing staff development on behavioral strategies. The role involves circulating classrooms and hallways to reinforce expectations, supervising transitions and enrichment activities, leading behavior-related parent meetings, developing and monitoring individual behavior intervention plans, overseeing in-school suspensions and after-school detention, maintaining confidential discipline records, delivering daily staff support and professional development, and generating weekly/monthly reports on behavioral trends and areas for improvement. Strong emphasis on social-emotional learning, student advocacy, and data-informed decision making to promote student outcomes and adherence to the school's mission and values.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Minimum one year of experience working in an urban school setting or charter environment
- Proven experience in student management, behavior intervention, and crisis de-escalation
- Deep understanding of school culture-building and classroom behavioral systems
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with students, staff, and families
- Must pass a criminal history background check and meet all state employment requirements
