Behavior Intervention Specialist

Job Summary
Support students with behavioral challenges by developing and implementing individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) in collaboration with a behavior consultant. Independently implement behavior intervention strategies across classroom, hallway, cafeteria, and other settings; collect and record behavioral data; communicate progress to classroom teachers and administrators; coach teachers on effective behavior management techniques; and help transfer behavior-management skills back to teachers as students' skills develop. Maintain confidentiality, follow district policies, and engage in professional development as required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate's degree or higher in related field preferred
- Prior experience with children or adolescents with behavioral challenges strongly preferred
- Knowledge of behavior intervention strategies, Positive Behavior Supports (PBS), and basic principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
- Ability to be self-starting and work independently with minimal direct supervision
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to collect and organize data accurately
- Strong collaborative skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to district policies and ethical guidelines
- Willingness to participate in professional development opportunities
