Job Summary
Support students with special needs in the classroom by implementing data-driven behavior intervention plans and social-emotional regulation strategies. Facilitate recognition of behavioral goals, promote positive learning, and engage in de-escalation and redirection as needed. Assist with daily functional skills, collect behavior data for interpretation, and compile records for weekly tracking in Welligent. Direct parent inquiries to the Inclusion Team and foster a safe learning environment through collaboration with staff. This full-time hourly role requires a BII license or relevant experience and offers comprehensive health benefits, retirement matching, and paid time off.
Required Qualifications
- At least 1 year of previous experience working in a school-based setting as a Special Education Assistant, paraprofessional, Behavior Interventionist (BII), Behavior Therapist (BT), or related position
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Proficient in data collection
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Must be flexible and team-oriented
- Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Strong work ethic, accountability, and ownership of work
- Regular attendance, dependability, and punctuality in conformance with the standards
- Possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Must complete 12 semester units and/or 18 quarter units and be currently enrolled for the same units
Desired Qualifications
- Registered Behavior Therapy (RBT) License
- Bilingual in Spanish
