Job Summary
Behavior Consultant role at The Arc of Washington County. Conduct functional behavioral assessments and develop ABA-based behavior plans; provide staff and caregiver training; monitor and revise plans; collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to empower adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities toward greater independence. Position offers a choice between Full-Time salary ($75,000/year) or Consultant rate ($65/hr.), sign-on bonus, and flexible work options. Requires active BCBA (or MD-equivalent licensure) and at least 1 year writing behavior support plans; valid driver’s license and ability to pass background checks; travel to Hagerstown, MD area for on-site duties. Responsibilities include applying ABA principles, training staff, evaluating plan effectiveness, and contributing to program outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Active BCBA certification or equivalent Maryland licensure (BCBA REQUIRED)
- Minimum 1 year writing behavior support plans
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to pass background checks
- Ability to attend paid specialized training and orientation (M–F, 8:30–5:00 PM)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Empathy and commitment to supporting adults with developmental disabilities
