Job Summary
Behavior Consultant in a Special Education Day School setting provides diagnostic, remedial and consultative services in behavior for students across district sites. Responsibilities include consulting with staff on behavioral programming for students identified for tiered instruction or special education, participating in assessments and IEP team evaluations, developing and implementing Functional Behavior Analyses and Behavior Intervention Plans, training Para-Educators, collecting and summarizing data, preparing written reports, and supporting transition planning between school levels. Requires BCBA certification or active KSDE Special Education licensure, a bachelor’s degree, a valid driver’s license, and health inoculation documentation; travel within the district is required. The role emphasizes collaboration with staff to improve behavioral and instructional programming and to ensure compliance with district policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university
- Current Kansas State Teaching Licensure with Special Education endorsement appropriate to the assignment or BCBA Certification on file in the Central Office
- Health and Inoculation Certificate on file in the Central Office
- Valid Driver’s License
