Job Summary
Behavior & Community Support Therapist provides 1:1 direct behavioral health intervention in clients’ homes and community settings for children/teens in foster care/adoption programs, using trauma-informed, behaviorally based models. Responsibilities include leading skill-building groups (communication, activities of daily living, social and vocational skills, self-esteem), supporting caregivers with evidence-based strategies (ABA), coordinating with clinical team and other providers, documenting progress and treatment plans, responding to crises, and ensuring services align with Medicaid and private insurance requirements. Hybrid remote work with time split between home, clients’ homes, and Little City clinic in Chicago (plus access to offices in Matteson and Joliet). Qualifications include degree requirements, RBT certification within 90 days, transportation capability within a 40-mile radius, and ability to work weekday evenings.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related human service field OR a bachelor’s degree in any field with two years’ supervised clinical experience in a mental health setting OR a high school diploma or GED with 5 years of supervised clinical experience in mental health.
- Must have or be able to obtain Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification within 90 days of hire
- Must be capable of transporting children and traveling within a 40-mile radius
- This position is hybrid remote (home office and clinic) in Chicago area
- Experience or working knowledge of Medicaid/healthcare billing practices preferred
- Must be available to work weekdays including afterschool and evening hours
- Ability to supervise and document according to Medicaid Rule 140 guidelines
- Strong knowledge of trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary team
- Must maintain confidentiality and mandated reporting requirements
- Must maintain required training and ethics standards
- Two-way travel and in-home service delivery in client environments
