Beginning Teacher Instructional Support Coach (Part-time)

Job Summary

Mentor and guide a cohort of new teachers through one-on-one conversations, offering lesson plan support and instructional modeling focused on small group learning. Assist beginning teachers in setting up routines, understanding school organization, and exploring ways to involve pupils in learning. Provide specific feedback, clarify questions, and demonstrate lessons for specific learning objectives while monitoring classroom progress. Help teachers become self-evaluative, listen to their responses to improve student learning, and direct them to in-school and community resources. Establish a relationship of trust and confidentiality to encourage professional growth and confidence among first-year educators.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in the field of education
  • Five (5) years of equivalent work experience in a relevant field
  • Experience as a teacher
  • Teacher leadership experience at the school and/or district office

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in a related field
  • Experience working in an urban school district or comparable governmental/public sector work
  • Experience in designing, presenting, and facilitating adult learning
