Job Summary
Mentor and guide a cohort of new elementary teachers through one-on-one conversations, lesson plan support, and instructional modeling focused on small group learning. Assist beginning teachers with classroom management strategies, setting up routines, and understanding school organization while fostering a positive, supportive learning environment. Provide specific feedback, demonstrate lessons for specific learning objectives, and offer instruction in knowledge and skills necessary for successful job performance. Help teachers become self-evaluative and involve pupils in learning through careful observation and trusted support.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in the field of education
- Five (5) years of equivalent work experience in a relevant field
- Experience as a teacher
- Teacher leadership experience at the school and/or district office
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree in a related field
- Experience working in an urban school district or comparable governmental/public sector work
- Experience in designing, presenting, and facilitating adult learning
