Job Summary

Supervise students in the classroom, lunchroom, outdoors, and at recess while supporting teachers and children across all subject areas. Lead small group, whole group, and individual activities and manage classroom environments through material preparation and technology support. Provide care before and after school, on days when regular classes are not in session, and during Community Connections with direction from the ASP Director. Demonstrate conflict resolution, differentiation, and classroom management strategies to foster an inclusive, caring environment that respects children's individual identities. Maintain current certifications for the Oregon Child Care Division, Food Handler, and CPR/First Aid while pursuing 15 hours of annual professional development.

Required Qualifications

  • AA in education or related field
  • At least six months of experience implementing activities for young children in childcare and/or educational settings
  • Enrollment in Oregon Office of Child Care's Central Background Registry
  • Food Handlers certificate
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification
  • Ability to attain Food Handlers certificate and current CPR and First Aid certification within 30 days of hiring date
  • Must pass a criminal background check
  • Must pass a drug screen
  • Mobility sufficient to move about the campus and assure the safety of young children
  • Ability to occasionally lift 30-50 pounds
  • Ability to accomplish frequent bending, squatting, stooping and kneeling

  • Ability to problem-solve, compromise, collaborate, be flexible, and take direction when necessary
  • Strong organizational skills and time management
  • Proficient with Word, Outlook, and Google Drive
  • Pursue professional learning opportunities, including 15 hours of professional development every year
  • Attend orientations, staff meetings, and training sessions if assigned
