Job Summary
COTA supports the Occupational Therapist under the direction of the Chief Schools Officer and School OT, assisting with screenings, assessments, and therapy services to enhance motor, sensory, self-regulatory, and functional abilities. Responsibilities include documenting progress, preparing materials/equipment, adapting instructional materials, organizing student records and reports, and coordinating therapy-related activities across multiple Julie Billiart School campuses in Brecksville, Akron, Lyndhurst, and Westlake. Travel to school campus locations throughout the week is required; role involves clerical tasks, data collection, and collaboration with OTR to implement IEP plans. Part-time schedule of 2 days per week; supervision by OTR and Chief Schools Officer; ongoing professional development opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) certification or licensure
- experience in school-based occupational therapy preferred
- ability to travel between multiple school sites as needed
- familiarity with IEP processes and data documentation
