Job Summary
Before School Recreation Site Coordinator oversees the daily operation and onsite leadership of an assigned Before School Rec location for Grades K–4 during morning care. Responsibilities include supervising BSR Counselors, ensuring program quality, safety, and a welcoming environment, planning and supporting morning activities, managing check-ins, attendance, snack, and transitions, and serving as the primary onsite contact for families, staff, and school partners. The role requires effective communication, leadership, staff onboarding, adherence to safety procedures, and collaboration with District 39 staff to uphold program standards and district plans. Mentoring and supporting staff development, maintaining health and safety information, and ensuring a calm, organized morning environment are essential. Certifications in CPR/First Aid within three months and completion of required trainings are required.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Experience supervising or mentoring staff preferred
- Previous experience working with children preferred
- Must possess CPR/First Aid certificates within three months of hiring, provided by the Park District
- Complete annual District trainings, including Sexual Harassment Training, Avoiding Exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens annually and Mandated Reporter training every three years annually and Mandated Reporter training every three years
