Job Summary
Provide active supervision and positive engagement for children in Child Watch programs, learning each child by name to build rapport. Introduce children to program rules, routines, and designated activity areas while ensuring their safety and well-being through accurate attendance tracking. Maintain a clean, organized, and age-appropriate program space, including equipment and supplies, and support implementation of themed activities, special projects, and enrichment experiences. Report all accidents or incidents promptly and complete required documentation while following all YMCA policies and regulatory procedures. Communicate respectfully and positively with parents, members, youth, and coworkers. Attend required meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Must meet minimum age requirement of 16
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of children and families
- Commitment to promoting a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment
- Strong customer service and verbal communication skills
- Child Abuse Prevention training required within 7 days of hire
- CPR/AED and First Aid certification required within 90 days of hire
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience working with children in childcare, education, or developmental programs preferred
